Situation: A series of weak fronts continue to move across the country today, followed by a ridge this weekend. An active front and complex low system then move across the country from the Tasman on Monday and Tuesday.

Forecast: Friday: Southwest 15 knots, rising to 20 knots gusting 30 knots this evening. Sea becoming moderate this evening. Mainly fine but poor visibility in a few showers this afternoon and evening, some heavy. Saturday: Southwest easing to 15 knots in the morning and variable 5 knots in the afternoon. Moderate sea, easing in the morning. Fair visibility in showers, clearing and becoming fine in the morning.

Outlook: Outlook until midnight Tuesday: Sunday: Northeast 15 knots developing afternoon. Morning and evening cloud, otherwise fine. Monday: Northeast rising to 20 knots for a time, easing to northerly 10 knots late. Few spots of rain. Tuesday: Changing southwest 15 knots. Rain developing with southwest change.

Swell: Swell forecast to midnight Tuesday: Easterly half a metre or less, rising to northeast 1 metre for a time Monday and Tuesday.
