North Island

Mainly fine, apart from isolated showers about the eastern ranges from the Tararua to the Raukumara Ranges, clearing south of the Raukumara Range tomorrow afternoon and in the north tomorrow evening. WINDS: Light.

Freezing Level: 1600 metres.

South Island

Kaikoura Ranges, and Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks: Mostly cloudy and isolated showers, clearing about the Kaikouras later tomorrow morning. Southern Alps: Cloudy periods. Scattered showers north of Mount Cook, only isolated in the south, falling as snow above 1200 metres. Showers becoming more widespread tomorrow morning or afternoon. Fiordland National Park: Fine today. The odd shower developing tomorrow morning, more frequent in the evening. WINDS: Winds mainly light. Strong northwesterlies developing tomorrow evening south of Nelson Lakes.

Freezing Level: 1600 metres, sloping to 1200 metres in the south.
