Raukumara Range to the Kaimanawa Forest Park: Scattered showers, easing tonight, becoming fine tomorrow morning. Tongariro National Park, and the Tararua and Ruahine Ranges: Mainly fine. Isolated showers from Tongariro National Park to Ruahine Forest Park tomorrow afternoon and evening. Egmont National Park: Fine today. A few showers from midday tomorrow. WINDS: Southerlies, turning northwest tomorrow, strong in exposed places about the Tararua Range.

Freezing Level: 2600 metres, sloping to 3300 metres in the west. rising to 3300 metres everywhere tomorrow.

South Island

Kaikoura Ranges: Fine. Kahurangi to Mount Aspiring National Park: Fine today. Isolated showers tomorrow, becoming widespread about Mount Aspiring National Park towards evening. Fiordland National Park: Rain developing tonight, with some heavy falls tomorrow, then clearing in the south tomorrow evening. WINDS: Northwesterlies, strengthening, rising to gale with severe gale in exposed places south of Mount Cook tonight, then easing in the south tomorrow afternoon.
